Do you know someone who saved another person's life or affected the lives of others in a water-related incident? If so, nominate them in the "2011 Lifesaver of the Year Award" sponsored by the National Drowning Prevention Alliance and USA Swimming Foundation. The winning "Lifesaver of the Year" will receive an all-expense paid trip for two to be honored at the 11th Annual National Drowning Prevention Symposium, set for March 7-10, 2012, in San Diego, California. The prize covers hotel, airfare and conference fees.
Whether you’re a parent with a backyard pool or an adult who enjoys a day at the beach, drowning prevention and water safety education should always be a priority.
We can end drowning in our lifetime. Public awareness and education focused on young children is the most powerful tool to prevent fatal and non-fatal drowning.
