The National Drowning Prevention Alliance has launched a national competition in search for the 2014 Lifesaver of the Year.
The competition rules are simple. Nominators will go to www.facebook.com/NationalDrowningPreventionAlliance and click the "CONTEST" tab. Once there, a photo and essay about the nominee may be uploaded. The essay should demonstrate how the nominee has impacted someone’s life or the lives of others in a water-related capacity. Any person who serves as a lifeguard or has participated in some life-saving water activity may be nominated.
The winner crowned “Lifesaver of the Year” receives an all-expense paid trip for one to Dallas, Texas for the 14th Annual National Drowning Prevention Symposium from March 11-13, 2015. 2 night hotel accommodations, airfare (up to $400) and conference fees are covered in the prize package. Transportation to and from airports, food not provided by the conference, and entertainment are the responsibility of the award recipient.
The submission period begins November 11, 2014 and ends December 20, 2014. NDPA will select ten finalists, and voting opens to the public for one month. The submission with the most votes will be pronounced the winner and awarded the 2014 Lifesaver of the Year Award at the National Drowning Prevention Alliance Educational Conference in March.
