Miles Chovnick's Bar Mitzvah Project: - Stop Drowning Now

Miles Chovnick’s Bar Mitzvah Project:

Help me raise money for drowning prevention education.

My Bar Mitzvah date, Nov. 13, 2021, falls on World Kindness Day.  One way I am asking guests to show kindness in honor of World Kindness Day and my Bar Mitzvah is to make a donation to the organization I have chosen for my Mitzvah Project, which is a national non-profit called “Stop Drowning Now.”  Stop Drowning Now (SDN) was founded by a group of educators who believe that drowning can be prevented.  This organization has a goal of preventing drowning using education.

In the United States, drowning takes an average of 3,500-4,000 lives per year, which is an average of 10 fatal drownings per day. Drowning is the leading cause of unintentional injury related death for children ages 1-4.  This is a topic that means a lot to me because I lost my brother Hendrix to drowning.  So, I have decided to raise awareness and funds for SDN because I don’t want other kids or families to experience what I did.  If you want to help me support SDN to prevent drowning, you can learn more and make a donation here.  Thank you for supporting this important cause.
