Suffolk County Action Plan
The plan in Suffolk County, New York’s first comprehensive drowning prevention strategy, created to respond to a 60 percent increase in drowning deaths from 2023 to 2024, especially among young children and in residential pools. It aligns with the U.S. National Water Safety Action Plan and focuses on evidence-based strategies to reduce drownings and improve water safety countywide.
